- Some people give food
- Some people give essential non-food items
- Some people give money - and we thank them so much for their support, we couldn't help local families in need without your gifts.
But some people give more - they give their time - only a couple of hours each week - but - unless they did - the foodbank could not operate. Due to an increase in the demand for our services we need a few more special people - a few more volunteers. Can you help?
Volunteers are the driving force behind the foodbank. There are over 40 volunteers helping The Wokingham Foodbank to get emergency food to people in crisis, in fact everybody involved from the Manager down is a volunteer, we have no paid staff.
We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. All we ask is that you commit to a regular 2 hour session each week.
More people are needing our help than ever before, can you help us help them?
We need help on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings to weigh, sort and store donated food before it’s made into parcels for clients to collect. You could help in this vital work to ensure we have the right food available at all times.
All the food parcels we give out are customised to meet the size of the family and the particular needs they have. We need Volunteers Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon to help assemble and give out these parcels .
