Foodbank Referrals

Our foodbank works using a referral system. Find out more about how we work:

Our foodbank works with a number of different agencies, such as Citizens Advice, Wokingham Borough Council, Salvation Army, churches, children’s centres and health visitors. To find out more about the agencies that can make referrals to us and how you can get help, please contact us.

All agencies will discuss your needs and identify the cause of your crisis. They will offer practical guidance and take some basic details. If they decide that you are in need of our help then they will make a referral on your behalf. They will ask if you are able to collect from our location in Waterford House. If absolutely necessary we can arrange to deliver to you.

Some agencies will meet you face-face and give you a red referral voucher. If you bring this to us during our opening hours we will give you a minimum of three days of emergency food.

Other agencies, such as Citizens Advice, will handle your enquiry by telephone then create an electronic E-voucher which they will send to us online. They will tell you when you can visit us to collect, and they may also email you a copy of the E-voucher. You don’t need to bring an E-voucher to us.

If you are having trouble contacting Citizens Advice please visit this page and complete the appropriate referral form. They will then call you back to discuss your needs.

If you would like to become a registered referral agency for our foodbank, please contact us to find out more.
